About the experience

This is an incredible opportunity to create something truly unique - a custom wristwatch that you build yourself! You'll be joining the watchmaking team at Kartel, a Scottish brand with over 250 years of local watchmaking history. The workshop and flagship store are located in the heart of Fife, where Scotland's industrial heritage and landscape have inspired many of Kartel's watches. After learning about the history of watchmaking at Kartel, you will begin to build your own custom wristwatch. Your first task will be to select a case design and explore various combinations of case and dial colours. After that, you will choose a watch strap. Once all of the components are ready, you will assemble your personalised Kartel watch under the guidance of a master watchmaker. Under the watchful eye of a master watchmaker, you'll put together all the elements you've selected to build your watch. Once complete, there's a chance to personalise it with an engraving further. To accompany your horology workshop, you'll also be treated to some classic Scottish refreshments, such as a wee dram of whiskey or a beer, with local produce such as berries and shortbread. These watchmaking classes make the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys crafts and would like to experience making something truly special!
