As the loving restoration work goes on at the hangar, it means that it feels more interactive than any equivalent aircraft museum you’ll have visited before - in fact, we’d say that Biggin Hill sets the gold standard, as you have the chance to get up close to these iconic aircraft, and to take in the smell and sight of the leather and oil. And when the planes are fully restored and certified as airworthy, these, along with several other privately owned Spitfires - are kept here. Your host will accompany you on the tour to ensure you can be guided around the working hangar safely, and also tell you all the fascinating facts there are to know about these Spitfires. There are only a certain number left that are still considered airworthy, so this is a real privilege.
