Peer Option Upcycling Furniture Course - Online
About the experience
Learn how to give an unloved piece of furniture a new lease of life on this informative Upcycling Furniture course, delivered under the tutelage of expert upholsterer Juliette Goggin! You may recognise Juliette if you watch the Channel 4 show Super Scrimpers, as she features regularly on the show, and she is passionate about finding hidden unearthed gems at car boot sales and vintage stores, and breathing new life into them. She is also a published author that has written books on upcycling, furniture reupholstery and crafting. Upcycling has undoubtedly gained more popularity in recent years, especially as it ties into the circular economy, the very ethos of which is about reducing and reusing rather than committing to waste or landfill. Over the duration of your peer level course, delivered over one online video session, you'll learn about decoupage and recovering which is utilised a lot in upcycling. And you'll also learn about the essential tools of the trade for upcycling, including tailor's chalk, tape measure, scissors, wadding, masking tape, push pins, a hammer and tacks or a staple gun. With this and Juliette's teaching combined, you'll be fully sorted for getting started on your own upcycling project. So whether it's an existing chair or footstool in your home you want to show some new TLC to or a lost find at an auction or flea market that's got bags of potential, the possibilities are endless!
