About the experience

Take an immersive journey through motorsport with The Silverstone Experience. This brand-new, family-friendly visitor attraction at the iconic home of British motorsport takes you on an inspiring and exciting journey through the past, present and future of Silverstone and British motor racing. You’ll get to discover the history of the site, including it’s previous origins as a WWII RAF base, and how the famous corners got their names. You can get up close to iconic cars including Nigel Mansell’s 1992 Red 5 and discover never-before-seen memorabilia, such as signing-on sheets featuring Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher and more. You can try your hand at commentating and get stuck into the Tech Lab to learn about the science behind the sport and discover how race-winning cars are made. There’s something for motorsport fans of all ages, including Lewis Hamilton’s race suit, boots and helmet, and a replica of his 2016 Mercedes hanging in the atrium. Add to this a virtual lap cinema race experience with commentary from Murray Walker. Go out the back doors of the museum and walk the old track on the outdoor track trail and catch a glimpse of the action on todays track.
