About the experience

You will meet Kovu and Uuka during your Meerkat encounter - both of these gorgeous critters have been carefully nurtured by the keeper team here in Shropshire and are quite gentle. If they enjoy the way you appear (or smell), they could snuggle up against you and even take a nap in your arms or on your lap! On this encounter, you will not only get to hold the Meerkats, but you will also learn about their natural habitat, habits, and how they are raised. Then you'll be able to assist at feeding time as well. You can't help but fall in love with these adorable and unusual tiny critters. You will also encounter two more animal species - the fearsome Serval is a quick-on-its-feet African wild cat that resembles a newborn cheetah. These feline funksters can run up to 50mph and jump up to 9ft in the air with ease. Afterwards it's time to meet the black and white ruffled Lemurs. These lovely creatures, with their enormous black eyes and little hands and feet, are a critically endangered species, so it's wonderful to see them living among the Servals and Meerkats.

Selected weekdays and weekends throughout the year
Experiences take place from 1-2 pm and 2-3 pm
Early booking is essential to avoid disappointment
The Wildlife Park is closed during November and from Christmas Eve until 22nd March. Although experiences take place during this time, the park itself will not be accessible
Due to the popularity of this experience, please book well in advance to avoid disappointment

The experience was wonderful. Having time to spend with animals you would never normally be able to. The best thing was the staff. They were incredibly knowledgeable and you could see how they loved and cared for the animals. They were so encouraging for us to "have a go" and would tell us stories about the animals and what they got up to. It made it very special

I bought this as a birthday present for my wife who is mad about meerkats. Well worth every penny , with plenty of hands on experience. A very knowledgeable and friendly keeper made the whole experience a joy.

I did the Lemur, Meerkat and Serval experience with my husband and we both loved it - our guide was full of information about each animal and obviously cares deeply about them. We had plenty of time in each enclosure and the meerkat cuddles were great, they're such cute little characters. The opportunity to stroke the servals was amazing, they are such beautiful cats. The whole park is well run, there's a lot to see and do and I think it would be easy to spend most of the day here. I'd definitely love to come back, I just wish I lived a bit closer.

I traveled 95 miles with a friend for this experience and it was worth every mile. We sent the 3 hour journey back in traffic queues grinning. What a lovely animal park this is and suitable for any age range who like animals. The environment for each animal has had thought and attention to detail to provide an exceptional environment for them to make their home. All the animals look happy and content. The number of different animals we saw was amazing and there was lots of young and several pairs of animals preparing homes for young. The setting was extremely clean and well maintained with good cafe / shop facilities and picnic areas. The experience itself of meeting servals, meerkats, black and white ruffed and ring tail lemurs was fantastic and we had a bonus of meeting a caracal too. The the animals where friendly and content to have us in their home. The keeper (Becky) knew the animals well and they respected her, she was very friendly and answered all our questions even the silly ones people ask when excited. I will go again and try one of the many other experiences they have to offer. I will also go just for a visit to wander round and listen to the animal talks.
