About the experience

Treat the inquisitive nature lovers in your life to a 2 hour Beekeeping Experience in Bungay situated near the Norfolk and Suffolk border. Not only is this a beautiful area of the world, known for its rolling fields and wildflower meadows, but delicious East Anglian honey that comes from the very bees you’ll be handling. Don the head to toe bee keepers suit, as you are hosted by the head beekeeper, Stacy, whose enthusiasm for all things bees is unavoidably catchy. She will show you the inside of a hive and explain the various functions of a bee colony all the while you’ll be keeping your eyes peeled for the infamous Queen bee. Once you’ve found her, you’ll be able to witness how much honey and pollen has been stored and marvel at the system she’s established in this hive. Everyone who participates in a beekeeping experience always comments on how they will never see honey in the same light afterwards once they have seen the efforts that go behind it, and this tour will be no different. Once you’ve come to the end of your experience, you will be given the opportunity to sample some of this special honey and marvel at it’s unique floral sweetness. This is the ideal Spring and Summer experience for curious outdoor enthusiasts who want to learn the science behind honey and witness live bees in action within the complicated hive structure. Situated in an idyllic part of the country, you won’t only walk away with new knowledge but a sense of relaxation and wonder.
