Unleash your creativity as you spend a few hours crafting and painting your own unique pot at these exciting pottery workshops in London. Whether you're a beginner or part of a small group looking for a fun and novel activity to enjoy with loved ones, this workshop is perfect for you. All the necessary materials are provided, so you can dive right into the artistic process. Upon arrival, you'll be outfitted with a potter’s apron and guided to the throwing area, where you'll have access to potters' wheels ready for your use. The studio's setup ensures that you'll be standing at the wheel to shape your clay. With ample clay at your disposal, you'll be able to mould a small pot. Your expert instructor will provide a demonstration of the fundamentals, and then it's your turn to bring your vision to life. Should you need assistance, they'll be there to offer guidance. Once your pot has taken shape, you'll move on to the painting station, where you can adorn your creation with watery glazes, letting your artistic talents shine. After putting the finishing touches on your masterpiece, you'll have the option to take it home with you or leave it at the studio to be fired (additional fee required). If you choose to leave it, you can make arrangements to return to Token Studios and collect your piece a couple of weeks later.

Overview

    • An ultimate pottery-making and painting workshop
    • Welcome and introduction
    • During the first part of your session, you will be instructed on how to create a pot on the pottery wheel.
    • Once you have created your pot, you will learn how to fire it
    • During a hand-building session, you will learn how to adjust your design and mould the pot into a new shape if required and add attachments such as handles
    • During the second part of your session, you'll get to paint your pot and be introduced to the range of colours and glazes available
    • Take your pot home with you at the end of your session, or you can leave it at the studio to be fired and glazed for a fee payable directly of £10 per item
    • Aprons, materials and tools are provided
    • You will form part of a group of up to 20 people on the day
    • Please allow 90 minutes for this experience
    • If you choose to have your pot fired and glazed, the lead time for collection is two weeks and collection must be arranged by appointment only.
    • This is a BYOB experience, and you will need to bring your own cups
