About the experience

Spend 3 days (2 nights) on a Photography Weekend Break in the Lake District. Your weekend will be packed with shoots as each day has 2-3 locations to shoot at with the opportunity to shoot sunsets or sunrises at beautiful locations such as Ullswater or Buttermere. With locations including Grasmere, Redial Water, Ullswater, Martindale, Watendlath, Allenby, Wastwater, Buttermere, Crummock, Elterwater, Hodge Close, Bassenthwaite, Little Langdallee, Tarn How and Blea Turn there will be an array of beautiful landscapes to capture. Accommodation and breakfasts are included in your experience so you can focus on your photography. Throughout the weekend you will receive 1 to 1 tuition from tutor and professional photographer Alan. Spend your dinner with the rest of your group reviewing your day’s work. Just remember to take the lens cap off before you shoot!

  • 3 day residential photography workshop visiting some amazing spots around the Lake District
  • 2 nights B&B or hotel accommodation - single occupancy basis (double occupancy available on request)
  • Evening meal reservations booked for you to enjoy a friendly and relaxing evening with the group (food not included)
  • One to one tuition throughout the event
  • Optional sunset/sunrise shoot - dependant on conditions and wishes or participants
  • Photograph a variety of scenes to learn and practice your skills
  • Visit approximately 2-3 locations a day, subject to the wishes of the group, time, weather and other factors
  • Travel to and from locations is included
  • A detailed itinerary will be provided 5 to 7 days ahead of workshop that will take into account weather and any other local seasonal factors
  • You will form part of a small group of up to 4 participants
  • Thursday night accommodation can be arranged for an additional charge payable when booking your date (subject to availability)
  • There is an option (with a supplementary fee - £50) to travel from and back to Coventry with your tutor, payable when booking your date

Equipment required for the workshop:

  • Your camera, fully charged battery and spare batteries if you have them
  • Additional memory card(s) in case required
  • Remote release cable to take shots without touching the camera
  • Any lenses are suitable - zooms, wide angle and macro
  • Tripod (essential) - one can be hired for £20 payable when booking your date if required
  • A polarising filter is useful for removing glare and reflections but not essential

Information

  • Under 16's welcome but must be accompanied by a participating adult
  • Workshops are suitable to any level of experience as 1 to 1 provided throughout
  • A good, general level of fitness is required
