About the experience

Chatsworth House, located near Bakewell in the heart of the Derbyshire Peak District, has been the home to the Cavendish family since 1549. It is now the seat of the Duke of Devonshire and is one of the most popular country houses and estates in the country. Although Chatsworth is open to the public and is a great place to visit on foot, nothing beats taking a helicopter tour to get a rare bird's eye view of this stunning location. Flying over the iconic house and estate, you'll get a true sense of its majesty and impressive location. At around 1500ft, rows of visitor cars will look tiny as you cruise over, but the house always looks impressive. You'll also get to appreciate the symmetry of those finely manicured formal gardens. As you hover over Chatsworth, your pilot will point out landmarks such as the Hunting Tower, which looks down on the house from the tree-lined hillside, the much-photographed Cascade, the Grotto, the Willow Tree Fountain and the stone bridge and weir. You'll also get to swoop over the extensive deer park that surrounds the mansion and the various farms dotted around the estate.
