About the experience

These one-on-one pottery classes cover all the fundamentals of utilising a potter's wheel. By the close of the day, you'll be capable of pulling walls and throwing clay consistently to produce your own pottery. The term 'throwing' simply refers to the art of causing the clay to bend creatively between your fingers while using the wheel. Mathew and Rachel are a husband and wife ceramic design and painting team who were both born and raised in Staffordshire, a region of the Potteries that is well-known for its beautiful ceramics. In addition to being a skilled potter, Mathew is also a teacher. As a result, you'll discover that he is systematic in his instruction and incredibly patient, both of which are essential skills while navigating a lump of clay and a spinning wheel for the first time. In his home studio next to Stafford's tranquil and verdant Trentham Gardens, Mathew conducts these full-day seminars for two. His workshops are also close to a few convenient chain hotels, making it simple to enjoy these lessons even if you're not in the Staffordshire or the Midlands regions.
