About the experience

You’ll Never Walk Alone - quite literally - on this walking tour, where you won’t just learn about the musical history of Liverpool, but meet an actual music icon from this fine city too! If you were paying close attention to the pop charts of the 80s and 90s, you’ll doubtless remember Frankie Goes To Hollywood, whose first three singles in 1984 all went straight to number one in the UK, or The Farm, who were pioneers of the “baggy” movement with hits like “All Together Now” and “Groovy Train” in 1991. And over the course of this two hour music themed walking tour of Liverpool, a member of one of these two bands will be your guide. This is a truly special way to find out what life in a band during the last two decades of the 20th century was really like; getting the call to go on Top Of The Pops, playing massive sell out stadiums, and becoming huge stars. Not only that, but you’ll really get an understanding of just how emblematic both bands were of pop culture and music of that time, as well as taking a deep dive into the Liverpool music scene, and how influential it has been across generations, exploring the studios, pubs, places and venues, from the iconic Cavern Club, all the way through to Britain’s first superclub that bought dance music to the masses. And with a tour guide who lived through it all as it happened, there couldn’t be a better host to discover Liverpool’s rich musical history with!
