Household Cavalry Museum Sparkling Afternoon Tea for Two
About the experience
Would you like to experience a fascinating visit to the Household Cavalry Museum, followed by a delectable afternoon tea or lunch at the Royal Horseguards Hotel? These packages for two offer an exciting opportunity to explore the museum and indulge in delicious food in an opulent setting. The Household Cavalry, located between Admiralty Arch and Downing Street, is the working stables and home to the trusted guardians of the Monarch. The soldiers on horseback ride down Horse Guards Parade to take up their positions to protect Horse Guards. Visiting the Household Cavalry Museum is an honour as it gives you an insight into a day in the life of a Cavalry guard. You will learn that the regiment is divided into two parts: the Household Cavalry, which is an expert reconnaissance unit working worldwide, and the Household Cavalry Mounted section, which is the ceremonial face of the regiment that you see outside Buckingham Palace during the Changing of the Guard. As you wander around the Cavalry Museum, the multimedia audio guide will inform you about the rich history of the regiment throughout the reigns of many Kings and Queens. You will have the chance to see exhibits and military artefacts and observe the horses and riders going about their daily business. Additionally, you can find out what it's like to be dressed in a ceremonial jacket and plume hat. However, be warned, it is quite heavy and cumbersome! After your visit, you can take a very short walk from the museum to the Royal Horseguards Hotel on the other side of Whitehall Place. This historic five-star hotel is where you'll enjoy a delicious lunch or afternoon tea in a luxurious setting.
