You'll be able to observe these raptors in their natural habitat, an experience you'll never forget. Meet Kevin and Jo Ryan, an adventurous couple who left their city life behind to become dedicated keepers of an impressive collection of raptors. With their passion for nurturing the working partnership between bird and handler, you'll be in great hands throughout your Hawk Walk experience. Get up close and personal with the resident birds of prey, each with their distinct personality traits that become apparent as you learn to handle them. You'll have the chance to handle Ruby the Ruppells Griffon Vulture with her impressive 8ft wingspan, who loves to watch everything from her favourite post. You'll also meet Boo, the adorable Barn Owl with her trademark surprised look, and Meg, the Bengal Eagle Owl, who loves to bask in the Yorkshire sunshine. Meet the Harris Hawks, Jack and Vera, with their fantastic names, and choose your partner for your walk. With group sizes kept small (usually up to four guests), you'll have plenty of choices to work with your favourite bird. Whether you encourage Phoenix the Ferruginous Hawk to swoop over the rolling hills or watch as Popeye the Peregrine x Saker Falcon dives in at great speed, your Hawk Walk is the perfect ending to your West Yorkshire experience. You'll be very much hands-on with the birds
Carry a bird of your choice on your gloved fist for a walk
Plenty of photo opportunities in the beautiful surrounding countryside
A short refreshment break with tea, coffee, biscuits and homemade scones and jam (Warm mince pies in November - December by the fire)
Enjoy flying a selection of birds to your gloved fist in the field
Please allow 3 hours on site

This is without doubt one of the best presents my wife has ever bought me! I went with a friend of mine and from the moment we arrived at Field House Farm we could not have been made more welcome. Kevin and Jo were perfect hosts and the passion they have for their birds is so obvious. Kevin makes handling the birds look so simple but this undoubtedly comes from years of training and experience. The groups he takes are never more than four so you get plenty of time with birds, which are of course the 'stars of the show'. From Boo the Barn Owl to D'mona the Bald Eagle all the birds have their own character. My friend and I haven't stopped talking about the experience and are planning to go back next year.
