About the experience

Embark on an exciting adventure and take a Gorge walk near Glasgow to discover the Devil's Pulpit! This natural wonder has gained popularity due to its appearance in the famous TV show 'Outlander'. You will be led by expert guides on a scenic three-hour gorge walk to explore this unique site. For centuries, visitors have been fascinated by the impressive 100ft gorge at Devil's Pulpit. The area is steeped in folklore, with stories of druids, devils, and witches. The Devil's Pulpit is a mushroom-shaped rock located within Finnich Glen. Even before it was featured in fictional scenes, the site was a popular destination for tourists. Your gorge walk will begin at the Pinkston base of an outdoor adventure company. From there, you will be transported to Loch Lomond near Drymen, where you will descend the stone steps into the gorge. The first sight of the gorge is breathtaking. The steep rock walls covered in green moss rise high above the flowing crimson-red waters. The shards of light piercing through the trees add to the magical and mysterious atmosphere. The red sandstone is what makes Devil's Pulpit and Finnich Glen so spectacular and colourful. You will explore this stunning location by scrambling, sliding, swimming, and jumping from one pool to another, moving downstream through the emerald-green cavern. It's an experience you won't forget!
