This centre near Northwich showcases one of the largest collections of birds of prey in the country, offering an array of half-day, taster, and combo raptor experiences. The half-day falconry session is a morning adventure that commences with a 30-minute introduction to the birds you will be flying, held in the 'mews' section of this Cheshire falconry centre. Your knowledgeable falconer will equip you with a glove before leading you to the flying field. Throughout the morning, you will have the exhilarating opportunity to fly up to six different species of birds of prey, including hawk, falcon, buzzard, owl, vulture, and possibly even an eagle. This welcoming Cheshire falconry centre is open to the public and is a highly sought-after visitor attraction. With excellent on-site facilities, including an award-winning restaurant, we are confident that you will thoroughly enjoy these diverse and interactive raptor experiences!

Half Day Falconry

A 30 minute introduction to the birds
Learn terminology and vital information that you will need to use on your day
Fly up to 6 different species of birds
Sessions last three hours and gives a good introduction to the sport

Spectators

The Cheshire venue permits friends and family to come and watch and take photographs
There is a separate charge of £20 for the half day experience
Spectator fee for the raptor experience is £10 (please mention when booking your date)
Spectator fees are paid directly on the day

Suitable For

Minimum participant age is 14 years
Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult
Group sizes are kept small usually with no more than 8 guests per instructor
Suitable outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear should be worn

Experiences operate on both weekdays and weekends

This venue is not as vulnerable to adverse weather as some centres, as there is a 75' barn in which the flying can take place in wet or windy conditions

Really enjoyed our falconry experience, as we were initially apprehensive not knowing what to expect. The bird man who was with us was very patience and amusing and we spent a while handling the birds. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience, especially as owls are my favourite birds.

Great experience,staff very knowledgeable and would recommend to anyone with an interest in birds of prey. The only downside is the extra cost of a partner to watch. Â£20 is a bit much .

Venue well signposted on arrival at site.Interesting information, very pleasant and thoughtful member of staff. Flights went on for longer than expected and everyone had the birds landing on his/her arm several times. Generous with his time . Started promptly, and tea/coffee at the end. Better than we expected.

Experience was brilliant. Rob the falconer made everything interesting and his presentation was very entertaining and informative. If I had more time I would have upgraded and stayed for at least half the day. In the event I will likely go back and do a whole day session. Nothing to be scared of and a fantastic experience to have such amazing creatures so close up.
