About the experience

Have you ever wanted to escape from the modern world or been curious about surviving in the wild? It’s easy to get lost in the idea when you crave escapism, but surviving in the outdoors is harder than you think, especially when we are all so used to the convenience of modern amenities. But if you and your family want to learn the skills for ultimate outdoor survival, look no further. This family bushcraft day experience will get everyone not only loving the great outdoors but learning how to survive with lessons from an instructor, who is a former Army Officer and children’s author, Ian Brember. Your first challenge after getting used to the Runnymede woodland filled with bracken and thick bamboo, will be constructing a jungle camp after being shown how to tie a variety of knots. But this is only scratching the surface of what you will learn. Over the course of the day, you will learn wilderness navigation (forget GPS!) woodland stealth games, matchless fire lighting and campfire cooking. The day will conclude with you cooking your own meal over the fire and there’s no need to worry if you have any special dietary requirements as these will be catered for. If you’re struggling to get the family off their phones and outside this is the perfect outdoor experience where everyone will learn something new. After an exciting day full of bushcraft lessons, you’ll walk away with an appreciation for survival and how easy our modern lives are. So why not leave the complexities of family life behind just for a day and embrace the outdoors, you may just learn a thing or two about survival.
