About the experience

Are you and the family craving a different kind of weekend away? It’s time to ditch the traditional city weekend break and embark on something adventurous. In this family bushcraft weekend, you’ll be learning essential skills of outdoor survival such as navigating without technology, building fires and shelters as well as more advanced skills like cooking without cookware and woodcraft skills. Directed by a trained instructor and ex-Army officer in the heart of the Runnymede woodland site just off J11 of the M25 you’ll soon feel like you’re in the wilderness but under the guidance of an expert. After you’ve mastered some outdoor survival skills and built your shelter for the next few nights, you’ll be cooking over a campfire and will be surprised at how much better food tastes out in the open air. A range of meals will be on offer and can be catered to any dietary requirements that range from pasta bakes to campfire chilli and breakfast pancakes that taste even better out in the sun. After enjoying a hearty evening meal you will retreat into your homey shelter and sleep in a hammock or basha shelter, drifting off to the gentle sounds of nature all around. Although sleeping outside may seem strange at first, you’ll soon find on this weekend trip that nothing indoors will compare to the rest you get in nature. If you’re inspired to get the family outdoors, this bushcraft weekend is the ideal solution and the skills you learn don’t just end here. Equipped with survival knowledge and practical skills to last a lifetime, you’ll be fully prepared for any future camping adventures the family takes. Full of outdoor fun, learning, tasty food and a unique sleeping experience under the stars, this activity ticks all sorts of boxes for the entire family.
