Discover the enchanting world of raptors in the beautiful West Yorkshire countryside with the thrilling Hawk Walk experience! Marvel at the stunning birds of prey as you take a leisurely stroll through the Halifax countryside. It's the perfect opportunity to observe these creatures in their natural habitat. Meet Kevin and Jo Ryan, a passionate husband-and-wife team who left urban life to become the devoted keepers of a wonderful collection of raptors. They will proudly introduce you to their feathered friends and their unique personalities. They are passionate about nurturing the bond between birds and handlers. During your Hawk Walk experience, you'll meet a variety of raptor residents, each with distinctive character traits that will soon become apparent as you learn to handle them. The impressive 8-foot wingspan of Ruby the Ruppell's Griffon Vulture will leave you in awe as she surveys her surroundings from her favourite perch. If you're looking for cuteness overload, Boo, the adorable Barn Owl, with her constant surprised look, will leave you smiling. Meg, the Bengal Eagle Owl, will steal your heart as she basks in the warm Yorkshire sunshine, slowly closing her eyes for a peaceful nap. Then there are the Harris Hawks, Jack and Vera, whose quirky names make them even more endearing. After meeting both the feathered and non-feathered teams in Halifax, you get to choose your partner for the walk. This is the best part of the session, as you get to work with your favourite bird. With small group sizes (usually up to four guests), you'll have plenty of options. Whether you're encouraging Phoenix the Ferruginous Hawk to soar over the rolling hills or admiring Popeye, the cheeky Peregrine x Saker Falcon, as he takes a speedy dive, the Hawk Walk is the perfect way to end your West Yorkshire experience.

- Spend time in the countryside with raptors
- This voucher is valid for two people
- A welcome introduction and safety briefing
- Meet the birds and learn a brief history of falconry
- Have a go with falconry equipment, attaching jesses and doing the falconers knot
- A Hawk walk with your choice of Falcon, Hawk or Owl
- The Hawk walk lasts around 30 minutes
- A short refreshment break
- An opportunity to handle the Hawk and experience first-hand all that is involved in the flying of the Hawk
- Photos with your choice of bird
- During the experience you will fly a minimum of 4 birds of prey
- You may be part of a group of up to 4 people
- Allow around 3.5-4 hours on site

- Minimum age 10
- Under 18s must be accompanied by a participating adult
- Weekday and weekend dates throughout the year
- Dates are subject to availability and weather conditions
- Sessions generally start at 11:00 finishing around 13:30-14:00
Minimum Age: 12 years
- Most of the walking is done on firm ground, but there will be walking in a field
- Sensible outdoor clothing is required
- Spectators are welcome for a cost of £10 per person, payable upon booking
