About the experience
Begin your journey into Drifting! Suitable for drivers of any experience level, you will learn to slide a Mazda MX5 on a specialist drifting circuit at Bovingdon (aka The London Motorsport Circuit). Drifting is an insane amount of fun once you have mastered it, and this taster experience is a great way to get you started. You will drift for a total of 12 laps (4 instructor driving and 8 you driving).
- 30 minute introduction and briefing covering racing lines, braking/throttle technique and safety
- 4 sighting laps (instructor driving) which includes 1 sideways high speed lap in the BMW E90
- 8 driving laps in the MX5 with passenger side tuition from your drift instructor
For a bit of fun and competition you can take part in an optional assessment challenge on the last 2 laps where you will judged on your clipping points, driver control and consistency to have a chance of winning a trophy.
Please allow up to 1 ½ hours at the venue.
Information
Vouchers are valid for 10 months from the date of purchase. Saturday dates can be booked for an upgrade fee. You can upgrade the validity when you order.
- Full Manual UK or International drivers license is required to partake in this experience
- You will need to present the license on the day, photocopies will not be accepted
- You must be physically fit with no serious health conditions
- Glasses must be worn if necessary
- Flat soled shoes must be worn
- Helmets are supplied at the venue
- If you wish to book a weekend date you must pay a surcharge per driver
- When ordering a voucher or booking a date for Bovingdon Experiences you also agree to the additional Bovingdon Terms and Conditions
- Boost upgrade available on the day for £19, subject to availability and weather conditions

Selected weekday dates from January - December. Weekends run on selected Saturdays but require a surcharge to book (unless prepaid). Saturdays get booked up quickly so it's likely that only the early morning slots will be available unless you book well in advance.
Optional Damage Liability Reductions (ODLR) can be purchased on the day from £25. Without ODLR, drivers will be liable to pay the full insurance excess on any vehicle they damage.
In the instance of severe weather such as Snow, ice or dense fog your event may get cancelled and you will be offered an alternative date for your experience. Please refer to the events teams terms and conditions.
