About the experience

Looking for a great gentle activity to do in Cornwall? Well if you are, and also happen to be a fan of the hit ITV series Doc Martin, starring Martin Clunes as the grumpy but professional Dr Martin Ellingham, who becomes the GP of a medical surgery based in the fictional Cornish village of Portwenn, which finished just last year after an incredible ten series run, then this special themed walking tour will be ‘pur dha’ as they say in these parts. The backdrop for Portwenn is in fact Port Isaac, a beautiful and historic fishing village along the Cornish coast, parts of which date back to a Celtic settlement in the Middle Ages and which has over 90 listed buildings. And when you reach the harbour area of the village you’ll instantly recognise where you are if you're a fan of the show. Your tour guide has actually been an extra on the show themselves in several episodes, so they’ll be full of plenty of anecdotes from behind the scenes of the filming of these! You’ll also get to explore the different locations used for Doc Martin’s cottage and surgery, as well as the school that his wife Louisa (Caroline Catz) is a teacher at, Bert and Al’s restaurant and Mrs Tishell’s pharmacy amongst many other notable landmarks!
