Cutty Sark, Afternoon Tea And 24 Hour River Pass for Two
About the experience
Drop anchor in London with these Cutty Sark Tickets! This package for two includes tickets to visit the Cutty Sark as well as afternoon tea in the Cutty Sark Cafe. If this doesn't convince you, then you also get a 24hr riverboat pass included too. You will have the opportunity to visit the last merchant clipper tall sailing ships that were built before steam power replaced sails. You will be able to explore and learn about life on the high seas during the 19th century through interactive exhibits and realistic sights and sounds. The Cutty Sark, a renowned ship, was constructed in 1869 at a cost of £16,150. Interestingly, this was the same year when the Suez Canal was opened, which reduced the distance of journeys to China by over 3000 nautical miles. For many years, the ship sailed on this route, carrying hundreds of chests filled with tea from China to satisfy our newfound love for tea. The Cutty Sark gained notoriety during her time as a merchant ship transporting tea. She participated in numerous well-known 'tea races', including one against her lighter and possibly more nimble competitor, Thermopylae. Both vessels departed Shanghai fully loaded with tea and raced back to the capital. As well as your entry tickets and afternoon tea, your Cutty Sark package also includes 24-hour tickets for the City Cruise river boats. Hop and off at the four piers - Westminster, London Eye, Tower and Greenwich, which is just a step away from the Cutty Sark. Prepare for an immersive voyage across unpredictable seas. Explore the ship and enjoy afternoon tea. You'll also get to explore the River Thames by boat.
