About the experience

Crochet is said to be one of the most calming crafts there is - keeping your hands occupied, and your mind in the present moment, whilst making all manner of heartwarming goodies to bring joy to your family and friends. And at this Crochet Workshop, hosted at Harrow on the Hill in North London, you’ll get to discover the joys of yarn and the crochet hook through an expert crocheter who is passionate about their craft. It’s open to all ages and levels of ability, so the good news is you don’t need any prior crocheting or knitting experience. The workshops are hosted in a welcoming, fun and relaxing environment - the optimum atmosphere to learn - and you’ll soon find out that just about anything can be created with a ball of yarn or two and your crochet hook! You start off learning how to make a slipknot that will attach your yarn to the crochet hook, and how to hold the hook in one hand between your thumb and forefinger, with the yarn in the other hand. And once you’ve done your first stitch, with “Yarn over and pull through” repeating in your head, you’ll get your first chain delicately created before you even realise it. Crocheting is a very relaxing activity to do, whether it’s with friends over a cup of tea, or even as a mindful activity to do alone when you have some much needed “me” time. And from granny squares, to wonderful winter scarves and treasured teddy bears, the possibilities of what you can create are endless. Hopefully this crochet workshop will give you a gentle new pastime to get hooked on - literally!
