About the experience
If you’re interested in gliding, then this special Bronze Gliding Flight package is the ideal introduction to one of the most graceful ways you can get airborne. Hosted at a dedicated gliding club at Ridgewell Airfield, on the border between Essex and Suffolk, there’s a relaxed atmosphere at the airfield. And as you’ll discover, gliding is about how high you can launch, and what weather conditions are like on the day you attend. And provided the thermals are in your favour, you can expect to be taking flight for 20 minutes after launching from around 2000 ft in the air. Rest assured, you’ll be getting dedicated hands-on guidance and experience from the flight instructor up in the air, as you follow the same basic lesson structure as other gliders learning their craft. And once you’ve mastered “straight and level flight” and turning the dual control, tandem seat glider, where you’ll sit up front - so you’ll get all the best views overlooking the Essex and Suffolk countryside. Overall, it’s the perfect way for novices to start their gliding career!

Minimum Age: 14 years
- Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays between April and November
- All dates and session times are subject to availability and weather conditions
- Participants should contact the flying school on the morning of their flight to check weather conditions are suitable
- You can take along a camera, but it must use a neck-strap to firmly attach it
- Minimum age 14
- Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
- Maximum weight 16 stone (101kg)
- Maximum height 6ft 2ins (188cm)
