You'll learn how to create a classic blacksmith's knife during these full-day workshops in Kent with the assistance of Owen, who has been imparting knife-making knowledge at his forge for many years. This skilled bladesmith, who admits to being a foodie, specialises in forging blades to combine his passion for working metal and the culinary arts.
- A 4-hour introduction to blacksmithing
- Learn basic blacksmithing techniques; Upsetting, drawing, tapering, bending and punching
- Start by making a small item such as a bottle opener or hook
- For your main work of forge a fire poker or similar item of your choice
- Take home your unique hand-forged pieces
- All tools, materials, protective wear (safety glasses, apron) are provided
- You will form part of a small group of up to 3 participants for this experience
- Saturdays from 10:00-14:00 throughout the year

- A good, general level of fitness is required
- Dates and session times are subject to availability

- Jeans, T-shirt and jumper are recommended (no fleeces, nylon etc)
