About the experience

Discover the art of blacksmithing and knife-making at Bearded Pig Forge near Margate! Join Blacksmith Spike for a fun and educational experience that will teach you how to work with hot metal, even if you have no prior experience. Located on Quex Park, an 1800-acre farm estate near Birchington-on-Sea, you'll have plenty of things to do, from exploring the farm shop and garden centre to enjoying the kids' play barns and the maize maze. After a day of forging, you can even relax at the tea shop and cafe. Choose from three different courses, including the basic blacksmith one-day course, or the one or two-day course on knife-making. No matter which course you choose, you'll roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty, creating beautiful and functional items like fire pokers and hanging basket brackets. Spike, who has extensive knowledge of blacksmithing history and science, will be there to guide you every step of the way. On the one-day knife-making course, you'll create a Viking knife, while the two-day course allows you to fashion a wooden handle for your kitchen or bushcraft blade. Many guests have praised Spike for his friendly and relaxed teaching style, making the courses enjoyable and informative for all. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn a new skill and have fun at the same time!
