About the experience
Happy birds, excited visitors, and passionate hosts - that's falconry in Shrewsbury for you! They provide a completely hands-on and insightful meeting with the birds of prey. The centre itself is not open to the public, meaning that this feels even more like an exclusive experience for every visitor. Apart from the regular shows, school visits, and weddings around Shrewsbury, the falconers also engage in fascinating everyday tasks such as breeding, rearing, caring for, and training the lovable raptor residents. If you're interested in learning more about these tasks and other essential daily duties of a falconer and enjoy lots of flying, I'd definitely recommend the full-day course. For those who prefer a countryside stroll, the Hawk Walk is a great choice. The centre has around 600 acres of Shrewsbury countryside to explore, and the gregarious Hawk loves nothing better than a bit of company. It will sporadically fly right down to your gloved hand as you go, making the experience even more wonderful. The Owl experiences are an absolute favourite with the younger falconers (and often the adults too). The centre has gorgeous and photogenic owls like Scoobie and Freckle, and during these sessions, you will have plenty of time to take pictures and fly some owls too. The centre has both indoor and outdoor arenas available. If you're an owl lover, you should definitely try the Owl Experience. This experience allows you to get up close and personal with the sanctuary's array of owls. You can fly a variety of owls, feed them, learn how they are exercised, and much more

Owl Experience
- Fly a variety of owls
- The species of owls flown will vary depending on the time of year. The selection includes: Bengal Eagle owls, Barn owls, White-faced owls, Long eared owls, Little owls, African Spotted Eagle owls and European Eagle owls
- Feed the owls and learn how they are exercised
- Sessions last approximately 1-1.5 hours

- Under 18's must be accompanied by a participating adult
- Selected weekdays and weekends throughout the year
- Dates and session times are subject to availability and weather conditions
Minimum Age: 12 years
- Spectators are welcome for n additional charge payable on the day £20 for hawk walks and raptor or owl experiences and £50 for full days to include a light lunch.
