Experience the majesty of birds of prey at our family-run activity farm near Bedford in Bedfordshire. Choose from a range of thrilling falconry experiences suitable for all levels. Encounter over 300 birds, including rare and endangered species from around the globe. Our courses offer hands-on handling of birds of prey, advanced falconry training, and half-day hunts with hawks. Feel the adrenaline as you participate in our Hawking Half Day, joining Harris Hawks in the pursuit of live quarry. Alternatively, enjoy a peaceful hawk walk through the scenic Bedfordshire countryside without live prey.

Hawking Half Day
- The day starts at 9:30 for coffee
- Guests are introduced to the falconers, who will give instructions regarding the safety procedures required for handling the birds, and it is important that these guidelines are followed correctly.
- All guests will learn some of the skills necessary for successful hunting and quarrying, including rabbit, pheasant and other games.
- You will then be introduced to your Hawk before leaving the centre for a short walk to the Hawking site for the day.
- At all times, you will be under the supervision of a falconer
- You will experience the thrill of the chase when hunting quarry using a team of Harris Hawks, which work well together with both each other and man
- All the specialised equipment you will need is provided
Information
- The centre has a large selection of birds on display and provides demonstrations in the art of falconry at selected times during the day, which friends or family are welcome to enjoy for a small admission charge.
- There is a large picnic area and shop selling gifts, teas and coffee
- Refreshments can also be obtained at the activity farm
- Over 14 years of age
- Please wear dark country-style clothing and stout shoes, but please bring along Wellington boots and waterproof clothes in case of wet weather
- All specialised equipment will be provided
Minimum Age: 14 years
- The centre can arrange accommodation or suggest places to stay upon request.
- Two-hour courses run throughout the year
- Half-day hawking courses run between October 1st and February 28th
- All courses are weather-permitting
