60 Minute Piper Cub Flight - Brighton
About the experience
Slide into the shoes of history with this hands on flight in an ex military Piper club plane, that has roots stretching back to the 1930’s. If you’ve ever wanted to get close to some aircraft history, now’s your chance. Although the history of this particular isn’t set in stone, rumour has it that i may have been used during the D-Day operation in 1944 as an aerial reconnaissance flight. Not only is this a fascinating slice of history you’ll be able to witness first hand with one of these flights but you’ll also be departing from one of the most historic airports in the UK. Shorearm Airfield in West Sussex first opened to air traffic control in 1910 and has witnessed the progress of both major wars on British soil. When you arrive here, it’s hard to avoid the sense of history this place emanates as you get swept away in this Piper Club PA18 Aircraft. Not only are you guaranteed to soak up a bit of history, but once settled and with a bit of knowledge about how the plane works under your belt, the pilot will even give you the opportunity to have a go with the controls if you’re feeling adventurous. For spectacular panoramic views over the West Sussex countryside, to soaking up some British aviation history and to learning a thing or two about how to fly, this is the ultimate experience for anyone passionate about flying.
