About the experience
Learn how to fly in Somerset style with this 60 minute microlight experience across the beautiful coastline. Not only will you get the opportunity to learn a new skill but experience a slice of history. Departing from one of the country’s oldest airports, Westonzoyland, you’ll get a place among RAF and USAAF greats as this base was used during World War Two. You’ve only got to close your eyes for a little while to imagine the Hurricanes and Spitfires soaring through the skies overhead. If you’ve never flown before, you’ll be in the best hands with microlight expert Andy Buchan who is a chief flying instructor, examiner and senior inspector with many hours in the sky. With an hour session, you’ll not only be enjoying the fantastic historical landscape that stretches from Glastonbury Tor to the Bristol channel and even Exmoor national park, but you'll be given the opportunity to take the controls. Here, you’ll feel the excitement that comes with piloting a plane with this unique opportunity to learn all about flying from an expert microlight instructor. In no time, you’ll be mastering the tricky skill of straight and level flying as you breeze over the Somerset coastline. If you’ve ever wanted to learn to fly but not known where to start, this microlight experience is the best place to start and you’re guaranteed to catch the flying bug soon after.

- Minimum age 14
- Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
- There is no maximum age limit but a flight in an open cockpit aircraft may not be suitable for an elderly person, if you are over 70 you will need to provide a doctors note to prove you are fit to fly
- The aircraft can be quite narrow so it may be restrictive for those with a wider build, if you are unsure if you will fit in the aircraft please check before making a booking
- A good, general level of fitness and health is required
- You must be agile enough to climb into the cockpit
- If you are on any medication or have any medical conditions you will need to provide a doctors note to prove you can fly

Maximum Weight: 100.00 kg
- Spectators are welcome to come along and watch the action
- Sorry no dogs allowed
- Selected weekdays and weekends throughout the year (with some limited availability during the winter), subject to availability
- Bookings can be made up to 2 weeks in advance
- All flights are weather dependent but don't worry if your flight is cancelled you can rebook for a convenient time
- You must call the provider at 8.15am on the morning of your flight to check that you flight is going ahead
- If you are travelling more than an hour to the venue please bare in mind that flights may be cancelled at short notice
- Flexi wing voucher digital images can be purchased on the day of your flight for an additional £25
- The camera takes an image every five seconds which is downloaded to an SD card (£5 refunded when the SD card is returned)
- Toilets and tea and coffee making facilities in the onsite clubhouse
