About the experience
Vintage biplane lovers will have the opportunity to experience the true thrill of flying in an open cockpit with this 45 minute flying experience in a genuine Boeing Stearman biplane! Taking off from Compton Abbas Airfield, nestled in the heart of the Dorset countryside near Shaftesbury and over the border in Wiltshire to Salisbury, many trainee pilots of the US Air Force, US Navy and Canadian Air Force were trained up on these mighty vintage planes during World War II. Following the end of the war in 1945, they continued to soar through the skies, both at aerobatic displays at air shows and for uses such as crop dusting. And with your pilot to offer their input and guidance, you can either enjoy taking in the views around Cranborne Chase, Fontmell and Melbury Downs from many thousands of feet up in the air, or feeling even a tenth of the adrenaline those brave pilots felt whilst at the controls of the plane once airborne!

- All under 18's must be accompanied by an adult on the airfield

- Participants must be able to walk 50 meters unaided and safely egress the aircraft themselves
- You must declare yourself medically fit to fly and complete a consent form
- Spectators are welcome to come and watch but will only be able to view the take off and landing
