30 Minute Microlight Flying Lesson - Oxfordshire
About the experience
Learn how to fly whilst being treated to stunning views of the Oxfordshire countryside in this 30 minute session departing from Abingdon. Alongside an experienced instructor, you’ll be shown how to use the controls before getting the chance to fly the plane yourself. You will be in a CT microlight aeroplane which are often used for beginners because they are light but not without power - this nifty beast boasts speeds of 170mph and can really pack a punch through the skies if needed. As you get comfortable and ease yourself into the flight and gain confidence with the controls, you’ll be able to enjoy stunning views over Oxford. Included in this flight path are incredible views of Uffington White Horse which is a prehistoric hill figure etched into the landscape. You can see this on foot whilst hiking in the area, but it is at its most impressive from the air as you can take in the scale and prowess of the figure against the hills. A stone’s throw from this is Dragon Hill, a natural chalk hill with an artificially flattened top. Legends surround this place and have associated it with being the location where Saint George slew the dragon. Both of these landscapes come alive from the air, and this experience will give you spectacular views combined with an opportunity to increase your confidence in the skies.
