Step into history and adventure with our 15-minute Biplane Aerobatics experience in Kent! The Stampe SV, a masterpiece crafted in 1948 by the Societe Nationale de Constructions Aeronautiques de Nord (SNCAN) under licence, awaits you. With fewer than 1000 of these French and Algerian-built versions of the original Belgian wartime biplane ever produced, it's a rare treat indeed. Our aircraft, G-BPLM, previously known as F-BHET in France, has gracefully crossed the English Channel to reside here in Kent. Once a star of the renowned Rothman's display team, captivating audiences at airshows across Britain and Europe, now it's your turn to experience the thrill firsthand. Your journey begins with a comprehensive preflight briefing, where you'll meet the plane and undergo essential pre-flight checks. Then, it's time for takeoff from the grass runway at Headcorn - just the way the Stampes like it! Once airborne, the sky's the limit as you explore the aircrafts capabilities, from twists to loops, all while enjoying breathtaking views of the Garden of England, even from upside down! And to complete the experience, you'll be outfitted in an iconic Irvin flying jacket, ensuring both style and warmth as you soar through the skies of Kent. - Opportunity to take control of the aircraft at the pilot's discretion
- Experience timings include approximately 5 minutes for taxiing and engine checks before take-off from a grass runway
Information
- Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
- Warm clothing should be worn due to the open cockpit of the aircraft
- Consult your GP if you have any concerns about flying in an open cockpit
- Flights are available on selected regular weekdays and weekends throughout the year
- Ideal flying time is March-October
